    We are very pleased to announce that Jalview 2.8 is now available from our brand new website at www.jalview.org. What’s new ? Jalview 2.8 includes a number of enhancements and new features that have been in development since July 2010.     Join us for the third Jalview residential course and hackathon, which will be held from 21-22nd January 2013 at EMBL-EBI in Hinxton, UK. Registration costs £30 (excluding accommodation), and includes: Comprehensive hands on training to get the most out of the Jalview Desktop Lectures on multiple sequence alignment and analysis, and how Jalview is used at EMBL-EBI Jalview clinic and Jalview development hackathon Evening dinner at the Red Lion in Hinxton, and lunch and refreshments during the course The residential course offers the opportunity for new users to explore Jalview’s capabilities, and experienced users to try out its more advanced features.     This the first post on the Jalview Desktop news channel, which is made available as an RSS feed monitored by a news reader built in to the Jalview Desktop. We use the desktop news channel to keep you informed of important updates relevant to users of the Jalview desktop. The news reader will be launched automatically when you start the Desktop if new items are available. Should you want to browse older items, however, you can open it manually from the ‘Jalview news reader’ option in the Desktop’s ‘Tools’ menu. Read more →
